The End of HR as We Know It
When:5/19/2010 Time:08:00 AM
This program is hosted by the Genesee Valley Chapter SHRM and has been pre-approved for 1.5 general recertification credits by the HR Certification Institute.

About the Program:
Workforce-management decisions aren’t made with crystal balls. What they do demand is a clear sense of the landscape on the far horizon. As human resources professionals, you probably know what health care will cost your company next year. But you’re far less certain whether or not legions of workers will be full-time telecommuters five years from now, or if defined benefits will even exist in 2013. Fortunately, there are forward-thinkers and trend-spotters out there who make it their business to envision the future for us. Visionaries don’t always agree with each other, still, their predictions of what factors will alter the world of workforce management are provocative, and may serve to inform and intrigue all of us who manage people. Join us for an interactive and intriguing look at how trends will impact our human resource profession and what it may mean to you and your organization.
By the end of this session, participants will:
• Identify workforce trends on a local and global basis that may impact their role and their organization
• Prioritize those trends that have short-term implications for them in 2010
• Identify new HR competencies critical to successfully navigating these changes and reinventing their roles and functions
