About the Program

Catch up on the latest HR legislative information on the 2012 NYS legislative session. 2012 is an election year and anything can happen in Albany!  This HR Legislative briefing will cover HR-related legislative results of the 2011 legislative session, and what’s new or back for 2012. The Assembly has already announced a proposal for a higher minimum wage this year. And let’s not forget about the “bullying” bill, mandated time off proposals and more… Where should our HR advocacy efforts be channeled in 2012?

We’ll also catch-up on the effort to repeal the annual employee notice requirement of the Wage Theft Prevention Act. Bills have been introduced and the bill is moving!  The Governor’s paycheck deduction bill is back for action in the 2012 session but it still needs changes, adding additional permissible deductions and removing additional administrative burdens on employers.

At The Business Council, Tom is responsible for advocacy efforts on labor and human resource issues. He provides state and federal labor and human resource information to members through The HR Line and the Council's 800 telephone service. He also edits the monthly the Human Resource LINE newsletter and coordinates the activities of the Council’s Labor & Human Resources Committee.

Exit at Bushnell Basin. Make a left at the light. Take Rt. 96 until you see a sign saying "Powder Mills Park", make a right and go straight through the park. At the top of the hill directly across from Park Road School, make a left onto Railroad Mills Road. Make the first left onto Arrowhead Road. You will see a sign saying "Caution Speed Bumps". The Camp is at the base of the hill.

Make a right onto East Street. Follow it to Park Road. Make a left onto Park Road. Directly across from the Park Road School, make a right onto Railroad Mills Road. Follow directions from above.
